Gems from G.O.D

It was in and through Good Orderly Direction I made my new start
To dare to believe I might mend the peices of this broken heart

With the concept of a power greater than myself I started to wrestle
That anything of value might come from the peices of this broken vessel

These broken peices of what had become me
Would they be of any use to a G.O.D

A god for which I had no faith and seemed had no use for me
The door to faith eased open in the form of a G.O.D.

In the darkest of days theres a place the lost are found and the trash become treasure
Where harmonious action replaces our gut reaction and serenity becomes the way that we measure

We learn to laugh at ourselves and break the chains of our thinking
You see the root of our problem wasn't the drugs and wasn't the drinking

The root is a malady of the spirit and from God we were so far adrift
Then a Group Of Drunks offered the grace they'd been given as His free gift

A gift I didn't deserve and that I could never repay
A gift that if I were to keep it I had to give it away

Sobriety and salvation are true gifts that we keep by giving
If I would do what you do, I could have what you have; a new way of living

Some find Him in a flash, others in time of reflection
As for me I found the path in Good Orderly Direction
